MKA USA Response to Boston Attack

We are deeply hurt by the tragic loss of life in Boston earlier this week. We join all citizens of that city and the rest of the world in grief, and condemn this awful act in the strongest terms possible. While the details are still being uncovered, we, the Ahmadi Muslim youth, have begun to serve the city of Boston in any way we can -- from giving our blood at donor sites, to writing in local newspapers to express our pain and sympathies. May God grant strength and peace to all the victims families who have had to bear this terrible loss.

Fact of the Day

Most Arab Jews and Arab Christians refer to God as "Allah". And the word Allah in Arabic appears on the walls of many Arab churches.

image_8 On December 29th, 2011 the MKA team of Meriden Connecticut contributed to the nationwide Khidmate Khalaq effort. Five Khuddam and one Nasir, along with the Meriden Soup Kitchen, spent one of the last days of 2011 feeding those less fortunate in their community. The team joined in prayers at Batiul Aman Mosque before heading to their destination. Wearing "Muslims for Life" t-shirts, they were recognized as members of the Muslim Community, and introduced themselves as Ahmadi Muslims. After setting up and preparing the food alongside volunteers from other communities, they opened the doors welcoming a large crowd of hungry countrymen. Some members were stationed as "food police" at a large table, while others delivered the prepared turkey lunch.

Qaid Zahir M. Mannan narrates, "we conveyed our appreciation to the host and our teammates for allowing us to partake of this wonderful opportunity. They responded with gratefulness and warmth towards our Community and us. Heart-warming sentiments were experienced and new friends were made as we connected with both the servers and the underprivileged of society".

During off hours the team engaged in tabligh through exchanging contact information and invitations to their respective religious centers.

God willing, the team plans to feed the hungry on a consistent monthly basis.

Statistics: 24 total man-hours (6 volunteers X 4 hours). 200 people fed.
